About Us

Infertility and its associated treatments have been a part of the services provided by Clane Fertility Clinic (part of Clane General Hospital) since its conception in 1985.

Originally, the programme in relation to fertility issues was as a start up joint venture between Clane General Hospital and Bourn Hall Clinic in Cambridge.  Bourn Hall was set up by the fertility pioneers Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards - the team responsible for the birth of Louise Joy Brown, the world's first successful "test-tube" baby who was born in Great Britain On July 25, 1978.

As Medical Director of both Bourn Hall Clinic and Clane Fertility Clinic, Mr. Peter Brinsden leads the team of consultants, scientists, nurses and administration staff who are dedicated to ensuring that all couples are given the very best chance of achieving a pregnancy.

We understand the uncertainty many individuals and couples face when addressing their fertility options. At times it may even seem overwhelming.  At Clane Fertility Clinic we promise to bring you through your treatment journey with professionalism and empathy. From the outset, your treatment will be tailor made for your specific needs by our consultant fertility specialist.
